Haas F1 Team

About

Haas became the first American-led team to compete in Formula One in decades when it joined the grid in 2016. Founded by Gene Haas, the team adopted a unique operational model from the outset, forming a close technical partnership with Ferrari and outsourcing significant elements of car design and manufacturing. This approach allowed Haas to make an immediate impression, scoring points in its debut season and establishing itself as a competitive midfield outfit.

Despite early promise, consistency and long-term development have remained key challenges for the team. Limited resources compared to larger manufacturer-backed rivals, combined with frequent changes in drivers and technical direction, have made sustained progress difficult. Nevertheless, Haas has played an important role in expanding Formula One’s presence in the United States, particularly as the sport’s popularity has grown rapidly in recent years.

Haas embarked on a new chapter in 2025 with a completely refreshed driver line-up. The team signed rising British talent Oliver Bearman, who impressed the paddock with standout substitute appearances in 2024, showcasing his speed and composure under pressure. He was joined by experienced French driver Esteban Ocon, bringing race-winning pedigree and leadership to the team. Together, the pairing represents a blend of youth and experience as Haas looks to stabilise its performance and strengthen its position in the Formula One midfield.
