Racing Bulls, also known as VCARB, is Red Bull Racing’s sister team and has played a key role in Formula One’s driver development system since its launch in 2006. Originally competing under the name Toro Rosso, the team was created to identify, develop, and promote young talent within the Red Bull driver programme.
Over the years, Racing Bulls has been instrumental in launching the careers of several future stars. Most notably, Sebastian Vettel claimed his first Formula One victory with the team at the 2008 Italian Grand Prix. The team also provided early Formula One opportunities for drivers such as Carlos Sainz and Max Verstappen, both of whom have gone on to become race winners and championship contenders at the highest level.
The team was rebranded as AlphaTauri in 2020 before adopting the name Visa Cash App RB in 2024, later becoming widely known as Racing Bulls. Throughout its various identities, the team has continued to balance its role as a junior outfit with the ability to deliver standout performances, including race wins, podium finishes, and strong midfield results.
For the 2025 season, Racing Bulls initially announced a driver line-up of Yuki Tsunoda and French rookie Isack Hadjar. However, just two races into the season, Tsunoda was promoted to Red Bull Racing, creating a vacancy within the team. New Zealander Liam Lawson stepped into the seat, joining Hadjar to form Racing Bulls’ youngest-ever driver pairing. The move reinforced the team’s core purpose within Formula One: developing the next generation of elite drivers under the Red Bull umbrella.
2026 saw Racing Bulls welcome the seasons sole-rookie, Arvid Lindblad, to the team.
