Three-time W Series champion and IndyNXT race-winner Jamie Chadwick has completed a TPC for Williams in Portugal, the first woman to do so since 2015.
The team ambassador and F1 Academy Adviser completed 32 laps of the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve circuit, where Formula One will return in 2027.
Williams has supported Chadwick’s career since 2019, and this was her first test in F1 machinery, driving last year’s FW47.
“Few things can prepare you for driving a Formula 1 car at speed around a track like Portimão,” she said.
“It’s been the best day of my life so far.”
She follows in the footsteps of F1 Academy Managing Director Susie Wolff, who was a test driver for Williams in 2015.
Williams Team Principal James Vowles commended Chadwick’s efforts in the car, noting her ability to gather data for the team ahead of next year’s Portuguese Grand Prix.
“There is a path for women to compete at the top level,” he said.
The behind-the-scenes footage from Chadwick’s test will be broadcast on Sky Sports F1 and Williams social media throughout the Azerbaijan GP.
