Formula One has announced its highly anticipated 2027 calendar, with the 24-race season set to begin in Bahrain on March 14 and end in Abu Dhabi on December 12.
The delayed release comes as tensions are still high in the Middle East, with the US-Iran conflict showing no signs of easing.
F1 has gambled on stabilisation over the next few months, with the opening rounds set in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.
The Middle East double-header will be followed by an Asian triple-header, starting in Australia on April 4, then Japan on April 11 and finishing in China on April 18.
Two standalone races in North America follow, with Miami on May 2 and Canada on May 23, before F1 heads to Monaco on June 6 to start the European season.
The Barcelona-Catalunya and Dutch Grands Prix drop from the calendar, replaced by a return to Portugal and Turkey, the latter part of a triple-header including Azerbaijan and Singapore.
A triple-header will follow, as F1 heads to Austin, Mexico City and Sao Paulo, before a standalone race in Las Vegas and a Middle East double-header to finish the season.
F1 also announced another four Sprint weekends, taking the total to 10 events in 2027. Many have questioned the decision to bring the Sprint to Monaco, suggesting that the added event would take away from the spectacle of Saturday’s qualifying.
Joining the principality as a new Sprint venue are Bahrain, Australia, Japan, and Abu Dhabi – the season will start and end with a Sprint weekend.
