Aston Martin has confirmed its driver lineup for the 2027 Formula One season, with Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll continuing with the team next year.

Speculation about Alonso’s future was widely reported, with FIA President Mohammed ben Sulayem sensationally claiming the governing body would work with the Spaniard to help Aston Martin close the gap to the other teams with their struggling Honda power unit.

“Racing is my life, my passion, and I know I still have the speed and determination to compete at the highest level,” he said.

Lance Stroll has been with the team since 2019, and with his father Lawrence buying the team and becoming executive chairman in 2020, there is very little threat of him losing his seat.

“We have the resources and the people to become a winning team,” he said.

There are now only four seats available for 2027, with Haas and Racing Bulls yet to announce who will be their drivers next year.
