VICTORY FOR CHARLES

Charles Leclerc claimed victory at the 2026 British Grand Prix at Silverstone. It marked the Ferrari driver’s first Grand Prix win since the 2024 United States Grand Prix, ending a wait of 624 days between victories.

Leclerc delivered a composed and commanding performance throughout the race, giving Ferrari a much-needed boost as the battle at the front of the championship continues. The result is a marked improvement on the teams’ 2025 performance and is particularly significant after a challenging period for both Leclerc and Ferrari, who have shown flashes of pace but struggled to consistently convert strong performances into race wins.

It was an excellent afternoon for Ferrari all round. Lewis Hamilton, racing in front of his home crowd, finished third to secure a double podium for the Italian team, while George Russell separated the two Ferraris with a second-place finish for Mercedes.

The result strengthens Ferrari’s position in the Constructors’ Championship. The team now sits second on 255 points, although Mercedes remains comfortably ahead with 333 points after another strong weekend.

Silverstone once again delivered plenty of action throughout the race, with strategy, tyre management, and changing conditions keeping teams on their toes. However, the Grand Prix concluded in anticlimactic fashion after a late incident brought out the Safety Car. With insufficient time remaining to resume racing, the field took the chequered flag behind the Safety Car, denying fans the thrilling final-lap battle many had been hoping to witness.

Despite the subdued finish, the day belonged to Charles Leclerc. After 624 days without a victory, the Monegasque driver finally returned to the top step of the podium, giving Ferrari one of its strongest results of the season and providing renewed momentum as the championship heads into its next phase.
