About Esteban
Standing 186cm, likable Frenchman Esteban Ocon is one of the tallest drivers on the grid.
Esteban started karting in 2006, won 6 championships in the next 6 years and then moved to Formula Renault in 2012. He made his Formula One debut for Manor Racing in the 2016 Belgian Grand Prix and was a part of the Mercedes driver development programme until his move to Renault.
In 2017 and 2018 he wore pink, driving for Force India but lost his seat at the end of 2018 and had to settle for a reserve driver role at Mercedes in 2019.
In 2020 he returned to racing with Renault and scored his first F1 victory driving with Alpine in the 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix. As at Jan 2022, he held the record for Most consecutive race finishes; 27 stretching from the 2016 Belgian GP to the 2017 Mexican GP.
One of the most memorable Esteban moments occurred at the 2018 Brazilian GP. There, he incurred the wrath of Red Bull driver Max Verstappen after the pair came together while Esteban was being lapped by Max, who was leading the race at the time. After the race while being weighed in the FIA garage, the pair exchanged words with Max shoving the Frenchman.
Esteban joined Haas for 2025 on a multi-year deal.
