About Nico

Nico made his karting debut in 1997 at the age of 10 and in 2002 and 2003 he was the German Junior Karting champion and the German Karting champion respectively.
Hulkenberg made his single seater debut in 2005 in the Formula BMW series, a series which he won comfortably.
In 2008 Nico won the Formula 3 Euro Series championship, after which he moved to the GP2 series and became the third driver in the series to win in their rookie year.
In 2009 he was confirmed to race for Williams in 2010. He finished this season in 14th although he did achieve his first and only pole position of his F1 career.
Hulkenberg went on to race for Force India, Sauber and Renault until 2020 where he did not get a contract but drove for Racing point as a reserve driver in the British GP and also stood in for Vettel at Aston Martin the following year after he tested positive for Covid-19.
In 2023 he replaced Mick Schumacher at Haas.
