About Kevin

Kevin Magnussen was born in Roskilde, Denmark in October of 1992 to former F1 and Le Mans driver Jan Magnussen. Following in his father’s footsteps, Kevin got his first go-kart at the early age of 2 and quickly fell in love with karting.
Magnussen graduated from karts in 2008 and made the step up into Formula Ford in Denmark, where he took the championship in his first year. The following year Kevin moved to Formula Renault 2.0 and was subsequently picked up by McLaren’s young driver program that same year.
In 2014, Magnussen made his F1 race debut in spectacular manner, qualifying his McLaren Mercedes on the second row of the grid. He went on to finish second in that race, his first and only podium of his f1 career.
Magnussen stayed with McLaren until the 2016 season where he joined Renault for a year. Following his brief stint with Renault, Magnussen moved to Haas in 2017, where he stayed until the team dropped him in 2020.
In 2022, following the termination of Haas driver Nikita Mazepin’s contract, Magnussen re-joined Haas on a multiyear deal.
